INTEGRATION OF NSW AND VICTORIAN TAB'S

What we are seeing now is the culmination of many years work.

In 2004 Tabcorp (the owner of Victorian TAB) purchased NSW TAB. Tabcorp doubled in size over the past two years through the purchase of TAB NSW and Jupiters Casino.

Over the past 18 months Tabcorp has been involved heavily in the integration of the TAB's, culminating in completion of this in September of this year. This integration will be a major focus of Tabcorp over the next 12 - 18 months and will be the first priority of this business, then to look at opportunities for growth in the future (M. Slater, CEO Tabcorp, 2006)

The move to purchase TAB NSW is part of a strategic view to bring more products to the market and to provide potentially larger prize pools that will appeal to new and experienced people betting in this market (M. Slater, 2005).

The integration of these two TAB's should have many benefits for Intervest Global business and customers. Some of these include having more venues offering more bettable races in a day, allowing for selection of more quality races. This will minimise some of the effects seen over the last year that have impacted profits.

While the actual impacts of these changes will have to be seen we have evidence of a strong commitment by Tabcorp to the success and growth of this business and that can only be good from Intervest's viewpoint. There is the possibility that increased pools and more consistent dividends will improve returns for present and new clients who purchase TriLogics.

Just for Laughs

'For Better or Worse'

Darling," said the swooning man to his new bride. "Now that we are married, do you think you will be able to live on my small income?"

"Of course, dear, no trouble," she said. "But what will you live on?"

Introduction

Gwyneth and I live on the Gold Coast. I have been married for 38 years to Gwyneth - my hearts desire from the moment we met. We danced together and stayed together. We have two children, both are now adults and my best friends.

Some of my hobbies and previous ventures include racing motor bikes at Donnington Park and Malory Park. I was a county long distance runner and was the Rolls-Royce first eleven cricket captain. I have actually played against the West Indies.

I was the dart team captain at the Local County and a shotgun and small bore rifleman. I have also had a interest in dancing, rock & roll and square dancing.

My work history has been quite varied. I was a Mechanical Engineer (Aeronautical). I served an apprenticeship with Rolls-Royce in their aero engine division and stayed there for a further 19 years after the apprenticeship. Positions held included toolmaker, design draughtsman, numerical machine programmer (Fortran) and finished up as a production engineer for the combustion case of the Trent Engine (Jumbo Jet Engines) at main works Derby.

On arriving in Australia, I managed a medium sized engineering company with 160 staff members. I then changed direction to become an Orthotist in the Princess Margaret Hospital.  The smallest child patient came in a shoebox and the largest patient came in a wheelchair for a Reciprocating Gait Orthosis (RGO) and was able to walk out of the surgery.

Tell us a little bit about your role at Intervest?

As part of the Support/Training team at Intervest, I have been involved in restructuring the training to provide the most effective training and support possible for our clients. I enjoy talking with clients from all lifestyles. Training them and discussing their objectives in using the program, then helping them achieve their goals.

What has IGL meant for you?

A chance to work with a vibrant group of employees and management that support you in a stress free environment to achieve your personal and company goals.

Do you have any advice for the users of the IGL system being Customer Support?

Trust the training. Remember why you purchased the program and work towards achieving that goal. Two pieces of advice, it does work, therefore make it work for you and "no pain no gain".

Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

Retired and making money with the IGL program

Common mishaps with clients?

Do not bet until you have finished the training and have paper traded. Proving not to your trainer, but to yourself, that you can trade and profit from your trading.

Most treasured moments in my life?

Being present at the birth of my daughter. Having tea with the Queen of England and when I had the fortune to chat with Princess Diana. The Duchess of York also once gave me a cuddle.

Proudest Moment in your Life?

Changing peoples lives for the best. I was involved in the design of a Reciprocating Gait Orthosis (RGO) one of the first in the world. Crying with the parents of a 14 year old patient after being fitted with the RGO. He stood and walked for the first time in his life in my RGO, now copied and produced in America.

Greatest Achievement?

Working in theatre with Australia's leading plastic surgeon Fiona Wood on burns patients, reconstructing facial features for burn victims. Not a nice job.
